The Three Lagoons System—comprising Progresso Lagoon, Laguna Seca, and Cudjoe Lagoon—forms an interconnected ecosystem that supports critical mangrove habitats in northern Corozal District, Belize. Located near the communities of Progresso, Chunox, and Copper Bank, these lagoons serve as ecological lifelines, sustaining local biodiversity, community well-being, and climate resilience. CBWS, co-managed by the Sarteneja Alliance for Conservation and Development (SACD), is one of Belize’s largest marine protected areas, encompassing the entire Corozal Bay.
