The GAP targets non-government applicants, including but not limited to: non-governmental organizations, community-based organizations, academia, local associations and private sector entities.

Projects must be aligned with Belize Fund’s four (4) Thematic Areas (TA):

These Thematic Areas are broadly defined and are intended to help support and contribute to Belize achieving the conservation commitments under the Conservation Finance Agreement (CFA), as a part of the Blue Loan Agreement that the Government of Belize and TNC signed unto.

Annually, 40% or approximately $3.2 million Belize dollars will be allocated for funding under the GAP.

There are three categories of grants that can be applied for: small, medium and large grants through an annual Call for Proposals that is opened in August.
