The Belize Fund for a Sustainable Future is encouraging environmental clubs to raise awareness for International Coastal Clean-up Day (September 21, 2024) by participating in cleanup activities and sharing their impact through a creative video submission.
Duration:
September 21st – September 26th, 2024
How it Works:
Environmental clubs participate in coastal cleanup efforts and submit a 1-minute video showing and explaining:
- Why International Coastal Clean-up Day is important for Belize.
- How many bags of trash they collected during the cleanup and how they responsibly dispose of collected garbage.
- The most common piece of garbage they found and its impact on the marine environment.
- Why their club should be selected for the grand prize.
Submission Styles:
- 1-minute video (any format)
Rules and Guidelines:
- All submissions must be original and created by the club members.
- Clubs may submit only one video.
- Submit your video via email to communications@belizefund.bz by September 26th, 2024.
- Accepted file types: MP4, MOV, or AVI.
- Clubs must be based in Belize.
- Videos must be shot with a resolution of 720p or higher.
- Blurry videos will be disqualified.
Judging Criteria:
- Creativity, uniqueness, and originality of the video.
- Relevance and clarity of the message.
- Quality of submission
- Overall impression of the submission.
Prizes:
- Best Video Submission: A funded trip for 14 people to visit Hol Chan Marine Reserve.
- Most Garbage Collected: $200 cash prize and Belize Fund merchandise.
Award Announcement:
Winners will be announced on October 2, 2024.
