Join Our Team – Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

The Belize Fund for a Sustainable Future is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join our team!

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Belize’s sustainable future by supporting the effective tracking, analysis, and reporting of conservation projects funded through our Grants Award Program and Government Strategic Allocation. The successful candidate will play a key role in measuring the impact of our investments and ensuring accountability to environmental and social safeguard standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide input into the grant application review process to strengthen M&E frameworks and ensure ESSF (Environmental and Social Safeguards Framework) compliance
  • Plan and support baseline surveys, internal/external evaluations, and ongoing monitoring of project implementation and outcomes
  • Develop and maintain results frameworks, theories of change, and project indicators aligned with the Fund’s strategic goals
  • Design and implement M&E tools, systems, and plans to facilitate high-quality data collection, analysis, and learning
  • Conduct periodic field visits to assess project progress and compliance with M&E and ESSF standards
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including board-ready briefs and impact summaries
  • Track workplan implementation and budget execution for assigned projects
  • Provide M&E inputs for donor reporting and other communications or visibility products
  • Represent the Belize Fund in meetings, presentations, and project-related events
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director to support the Fund’s overall mission

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, including the use of log-frames and integration of safeguard policies
  • Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as SPSS, Microsoft Access, and Excel
  • Strong writing, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with marine conservation issues and environmental safeguards is a plus
  • Valid manual driver’s license required
  • Ability to travel for fieldwork and work under tight deadlines

Remuneration:

Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and suitability for the role.
