Digital Media/Communications Internship

Background:

The Belize Fund for a Sustainable Future (Belize Fund) is a private conservation trust fund established, on March 8, 2022, through the Conservation Funding Agreement under the Blue Bonds to support government and non-government partners, focused on Belize’s coastal and marine resources. The Belize Fund disburses grants to non-government partners involved in conservation efforts, scientific research, climate change adaptation activities and blue businesses. It also allocates funding to the Government of Belize to implement and achieve its conservation commitments. The Belize Fund works as a partner with the Government of Belize to ensure long-term sustainable financing for a resilient and vibrant blue economy for our country and people.

The Belize Fund is seeking a Digital Media/Communications Intern to support its communications and visibility efforts. This internship offers a valuable learning experience in the field of digital media and communications. You will gain practical skills and experience while working on meaningful projects that support the Belize Fund’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with implementing the Belize Fund’s digital media strategies across various platforms.
  • Create engaging content (text, graphics, short-form stories/reels video) for social media and website.
  • Schedule and disseminate content.
  • Conduct research and monitor content performance to inform content creation.
  • Support the development of marketing and promotional materials.
  • Contribute to the creation and distribution of newsletters and other communications.
  • Assist with event promotion and coverage.
  • Perform other related duties within this scope, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a tertiary-level student, or recent graduate, (preferably in a related field such as communications, marketing, or digital media)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; creative writing is a strong asset.
  • Proficient in content creation tools such as Canva and Capcut, etc.
  • Knowledge of content creation and social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Remuneration:

This is a work-from-home internship with a work commitment of 15-20 hours per week. The Belize Fund will provide a monthly stipend of BZD $800.
