Belize Coastal Resilience Art Contest

The Belize Fund for a Sustainable Future (Belize Fund) is pleased to announce our Belize Coastal Resilience Art Contest in celebration of International Day of Climate Action. We are encouraging artists and creatives to visually express their understanding of climate change impacts on coastal and marine resources in Belize and propose/demonstrate actionable solutions to build coastal resilience.

Duration:

September 14th – October 16th, 2023

How it Works:

Participants create artwork that illustrates the climate change impact on Belize’s coastal and marine resources and propose practical actions or solutions to build coastal resilience.

Submission Styles:

  • Drawings
  • Illustrations
  • Paintings (watercolour, ink, acrylic, oil, etc.)
  • Crayon Art
  • Cartoons

Rules and Guidelines:

  • All submissions must be original creations.
  • Participants may submit only one entry in the Ages 12-17 category or Ages 18+ category.
  • Participants can enter the contest by emailing their submission to communications@belizefund.bz by October 16th, 2023.
  • Accepted file types: DOC, DOCX, JPG, JPEG, PNG, or PDF.
  • Participants must be a citizen or legal resident of Belize.
  • Minimum art piece size: 8.5″ x 11″ / Maximum art piece size: 18″ x 24″
  • Image resolution must be 240 DPI or higher.
  • Blurry photos will be disqualified.
  • Participants must complete and submit an entrant form below along with a photo of yourself holding up your art piece.
  • Belize Fund will post the submissions using the hashtag #BelizeFund and #BelizeCoastalArt on our social media accounts.
  • Belize Fund will request the physical submissions from the winners.

Judging Criteria:

  • Creativity, uniqueness, quality, and originality.
  • Interpretation, relevance, and understanding of the theme.
  • Impact and practicality of the action or solution.
  • Overall impression of the submission.

Award Announcement:

Winners will be announced on October 24th, International Day of Climate Action.
